Canada Day Celebration of Indigenous and Somali Culture at Scarborough Museum

Event Highlights:

  • Interactive Workshops and Activities: Experience oral storytelling, drumming, cultural artifacts, food demonstrations, and traditional fabrics.
  • Discussions on Colonization: Engage in conversations about the impact of colonization on Indigenous and Somali communities, and ways colonial rule has been and continues to be resisted.
  • Learn and Connect: Discover how to support and engage with Indigenous and Somali communities meaningfully.
  • Expand your Understanding: Develop a deeper understanding of Indigenous and Somali heritage beyond popular media portrayals.
