Aug. 19-23 Feelings on the Farm Camp
August 19 @ 9:30 am - August 23 @ 3:30 pm
Would your child enjoy a camp that is all about self-awareness, communication, and feeling connected with nature and creatures on the farm? Yes? So would we! This camp is all about creative problem-solving, quiet reflection and gentle approaches.
We are Char, Liz, and Erin and we use compassionate communication techniques every day in our work and in our families. We love sharing these techniques with others and we have created this camp hoping that your child will enjoy their week of reflection just as much as us.
Each day we will explore a key concept related to self-awareness or collaborative problem-solving;
Monday: Exploring feelings and how they can bring us self awareness and connection to others.
Tuesday: Understanding how feelings are an expression of our needs and motivations.
Wednesday: Observations, perspectives and biases and how those influence our decisions and preferences.
Thursday: Conflicts and perspective taking to strengthen our capacity for empathy.
Friday: How consent is expressed verbally and nonverbally and how to make requests of others.
We will practice these concepts through games, role plays, art activities, meditation, and interacting with creatures on the farm (the bunnies, chickens, bugs, birds, and frogs).
This camp runs Monday-Friday, Aug. 19-23 , 9:30am-3pm.
If you require before or after care, please contact Erin to discuss your needs. bluedotacres@gmail.com
This camp has a maximum of 20 children or a ratio of 10 children per 1 adult. This camp is ideal for kids ages 6-12 years because of the activities we have planned but if your 4 or 5 year old would be an exceptional fit for this camp or you are trying to keep siblings together, we can make exceptions for that.
We have an intake form and waiver for you to fill out. Please watch for our emails at the end of June with links to those forms. If you have any questions beforehand, feel free to email.
