Join Alex Israel, MSc, for an engaging indoor talk followed by an outdoor walk exploring the fascinating world of bats.
Indoor Presentation:
- Introduction to various bat species in Ontario.
- Discussion of threats faced by bats.
- Overview of the Toronto Zoo’s Native Bat Conservation Program’s efforts to help bats.
- Sharing of success stories from the conservation program.
Outdoor Walk:
- Explore Downsview Park at night.
- Focus on nocturnal animals, especially bats.
- Learn tips for finding bats in the summer.
- Observe equipment used to track bats.
- Potentially encounter other nighttime urban creatures.
Additional Information:
- The event is open to participants of all ages.
- Bring headlamps or flashlights for the outdoor walk.
